Occupy Equality seeks to unity LGBT members of Occupy Wall Street protesters across the country to highlight economic inequities unique to the community.

- Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) has spoken out on behalf of a lesbian bi-national couple facing deportation because their marriage does not qualify them for a green card.

- After two days, the National Organization for Marriage finally expressed their “disappointment” in Republican Cindy Golding’s loss in Iowa’s “tight election,” expressing confidence they will “eventually prevail” at getting Iowans to vote to take away marriage rights.

- NOM also conflated the roles and responsibilities of judges with those of elected legislators while expressing sour grapes over the Respect for Marriage Act’s advancement.

- Why is the anti-gay North Carolina Baptist State Convention using pro-gay Morgan Stanley to handle its $128 million in financial assets?

- A new survey shows that LGBT residents of Anchorage, AK, continue to experience significant rates of discrimination.

- Students in Michigan have organized a Change.org petition challenging the Republican-sabotaged “license to bully” bill.

- A transgender high school student in Fort Collins, CO, was suspended for using the student bathroom, having been instructed to only use staff bathrooms.

- Grinnell College has officially added gender-neutral locker rooms on campus.

Three suspects have been charged with hate crimes for the brutal attack on a gay man in Reno, TX.

- The body of a missing Detroit transgender teen was found burned to death off the side of a freeway.

- Michael Stabile tours San Francisco’s new GLBT History Museum.

- Two Malaysian states are set to increase the extent to which they will punish homosexuality.

- Country singer Chely Wright told the Windy City Times that “being out is better.”

- Today’s editorial cartoon from the Dallas Voice mocks the Family Research Council for honoring Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL):
