Don’t look now, but the next anti-science nutcases are already building their membership. It’s a Catholic group that argues Galileo was wrong about the planets revolving around the sun, and the Church’s original position was the correct one — everything revolves around white guys. I mean, the earth. Heliocentricism, the sun at the center thing, was just a conspiracy to mess with the Church’s superiority, says Robert Sungenis (an interesting last name for a geocentrist).
Heliocentrism becomes dangerous if it is being propped up as the true system when, in fact, it is a false system. False information leads to false ideas, and false ideas lead to illicit and immoral actions — thus the state of the world today.… Prior to Galileo, the church was in full command of the world, and governments and academia were subservient to her.” There is proof in Scripture that Earth is the center of the universe, Sungenis said. Among many verses, he cites Joshua 10:12-14 as definitive proof: “And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, while the nation took vengeance on its foe.… The sun halted in the middle of the sky; not for a whole day did it resume its swift course.
At least, for now, even the Vatican thinks these guys are nuts.

You are more “honest” than most. Your extreme Christ hating anti-Catholic bigotry is out in the open. You obviously don’t give a hoot about opening your minds to anything that may take you out of your false atheistic comfort zone.
You pontificate with your inane remark: “…the Vatican thinks these guys are nuts.” (Who is your source of unimpeachable authority in the Vatican for making such a foolish remark? You don’t have one. Admit it.) In this largely demonically inverted new world order you folks are the nuts, but you are too cracked to see it. Until you do see it there is little real hope for you. Good-bye.

Obviously, James, you didn’t read the Chicago Tribune article in which you were quoted.
“I have no idea who these people are,” said Brother Guy Consolmagno, curator of meteorites and spokesman for the Vatican Observatory. “Are they sincere, or is this a clever bit of theater?”
And for the record, I hate no one. I just feel very sorry for those who think myths and legends are truth.
