What I’m gonna do about it

Mid-term bloodbath. Not as much as the right would like to paint it, but it should serve as a wake up call to Progressives that we have to fight back.

So, what am I gonna do about it?

We here at AWOP strive to make the case for Progressives and a more inclusive way of looking at the world without the blinders of manufactured fear and distortion intended to make people move in directions that do not serve them, but offer false justifications to vilify and blame people like us. The truth is we have more in common with our conservative counterparts than they are willing to admit. We spend a great deal of our time here talking about the right side of the political spectrum, what they do, say, who got stomped and outright lied to and by whom.

I was as saddened and upset to see the House go back to the same people whose conservative economic and social agenda has for, some time now, contributed to the awful place we find ourselves and our economy today, a product of a philosophy of division and fear. Those tactics are important to analyze and understand, in as much as we can, but there are far more informed political pundits than I around this magazine to handle that job. Not to say I won’t be weighing in from time to time on those issues too, but I am going to make a concerted attempt to do the progressive Living section of AWOP more justice than I have previously and focus on ways I can put being a Progressive into action, on the ground, in the real world.
