Wooo hoo! It’s The Honeycutters, Y’all!

Amanda Anne Platt and Pete James will be performing unplugged live in the Progressive Loft! We will be hearing tunes rom their stellar CD, Irene and talking with them about those songs, ranging from fun kid memories of the Blue Ridge mountains to the haunting tale of a frightened child bride.  You don’t have to wait till Sunday to hear them either! We are excited to welcome Octavia E. Nasr, founder of Bridges Media Consulting and Editor of OctaviaNasr.com., Middle East expert and her expertise also engulfs the marriage between social and traditional media with a focus on employing social media in newsgathering and reporting.

Born and raised in Lebanon, Octavia has lived in the U.S. for almost half her life. Prior to establishing her consulting firm, she worked at CNN and led the network’s integration of social media and international newsgathering. She served as CNN’s senior editor of Middle East affairs for more than ten years.
